COA middles school utilizes state adopted curricula. California's State Board of Education adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in August 2010 and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in 2011. The recently adopted CCSS and NGSS have been developed with the goals of unifying learning expectations for students across all states.
